Vitória (BA) receives Operário (PR) at Barradão

Vitória (BA) faces this Sunday, at 18h15, the Operário (PR), in Barradão, for the 32nd round of the Brasileirão Serie B.

After four games as a caretaker, Rodrigo Chagas makes his debut as an official coach.

-We had a very good week of work, where we were able to put ideas with the athletes, and also pass that this game (against the Operário) is of paramount importance for us. And World Cup final. It is a game that will allow us to regain confidence. We need, more than ever, a positive result, which is victory. We have two more games at home besides this one. Having a positive result in everyone and putting together a strategy so that in games away we are always looking for a victory or a point ”, evaluated the coach.

The team ranks 15th on the leaderboard – with 36 points.

At Operário-PR, despite the departure of some players who left the club, coach Matheus Costa wants to keep his focus on the final stretch of the Serie B of the Brasileirão. The coach lost three pieces during the week: the right-back Sávio, who started the team, in addition to the left-back Julinho, and the midfielder Mazinho, who had been used throughout the games.

For the right-back, the coach only has Alex Silva. The player is returning from injury after a month of recovery. In the left-back, the only option is Fabiano, who will be out against Vitória for contractual reasons. With that, Matheus Costa will have to improvise with a defender in the role.

The coach minimized the decisions of the board and wants to avoid any impact on the performance of the team in the field. Fantasma is in 12th place in Serie B – with 41 points.

– My head is totally focused on these seven Serie B games. Seven games are a lot in a competition and we have to do our best. Parallel to this, the club is making some swings without disturbing the sporting performance in the competition. We are in contact daily, the club must follow the planning, without hindering our performance – explained the coach during a press conference.
